In the Good Old Summertime…
Another month has passed since the last post in this blog. Between the Covid-19 thing and the summer heat of New Mexico’s Rio Grande Valley, it’s been a slow, quiet time. And while I’ve worked on a few themes for articles, nothing has risen to the level of a good yarn. Still, there are outlines in the works and new stories will follow. However, one idea recently took shape at the camp.
In an effort to cool things down, I recently acquired a small ice chest, an off-the-shelf plumbing elbow, and a battery powered fan (about $45 dollars in parts). Then I did a little fabricating and added a couple of gallon bottles of frozen water. This produced a simple AC unit for the Gypsywagen. It works pretty good and brings welcome relief from the weather. As a friend of mine likes to say, “progress, not perfection”.
